Focus Care Wales is a great believer in upskilling staff and continuous professional development. All 3 of our Support Coordinators (Rob, Lisa, and Jonathon) were hired internally through promotion and continue to gain new qualifications and management training during their employment with Focus Care Wales.
Our current Registered Manager, Shelagh Woodbridge has successfully completed her Diploma 5 in Health and Social Care and ILM Level 5 in Leadership and Management with Bangor University. Shelagh said “it’s been hard work over the last 18 months to juggle both work and coursework but it’s been great to gain such recognised and important qualifications”. Shelagh feels that the courses have helped her to improve her knowledge and skills around leadership and management which she is able to put into practice within her role at Focus Care.
Shelagh is now enjoying a much earned rest from studying and has been enjoying some leisure activities such as gardening and walking.
Our Office Administrator, Adam Pearce joined Focus in November 2015 as a Support Worker and in March 2018 added the additional role of Office Administrator. Adam is responsible for co-coordinating training, updating Focus’ website & facebook page and the day-to-day running of the Office. Adam is currently studying for his QCF Level 2 Diploma in Social Care, hoping to complete the qualification by 2020.
Adam enjoys his dual role with Focus and hope to progress further within the Expect Group.
